The Newcastle (OK) football team entered their game against Chickasa with an 0-4 record after coming into the season with high expectations.
Their star QB, Southmoore transfer & Texas Longhorns commit Casey Thompson, took it upon himself to get the Racers into the win column and he did just that with Newcastle crusing to a 55-21 victory in the Ford Game of the Week.
Thompson was basically unstoppable right from the start. Playing in front of one of his future coaches, Texas offensive coordinator Tim Beck, Thompson put Newcastle on the board early and often starting with a perfect 67 yard pass to receiver Jacob Morris on the second play of the game.
When the dust had settled, Thompson had racked up more than 400 yards and 7 touchdowns in just 3 quarters of play (5 in the first half alone).
He passed for 342 yards and four touchdowns, including one to his brother Cade, and added 98 yards and three more TDs on the ground showing fans exactly why the Longhorns want him in the fold.
