As we head to the Oklahoma high school football playoffs with this week’s Ford Game of the Week featuring Norman North vs Broken Arrow (November 10, 7:00pm CT on Yurview Oklahoma and streaming live on, we look back at some memorable highlights and moments from the regular season.

Way back in September, Owasso played Union in just about the best football game you’ll see all season…at any level. Union prevailed 44-41 in double overtime in a game that had both sides showing unbelievable poise through the many different momentum shifts.

With so many great running backs in Oklahoma 6A, there were bound to be some show stopping runs. Perhaps none can top Broken Arrow’s Noah Cortes, who jaunted 77 yards for a score against Westmoore. Anytime a back goes airborne to hurdle a defender and takes it to the house, it makes for a pretty good highlight.

No wonder Cortes has has over 1,200 yards and 11 touchdowns for the Tigers. It will certainly be imperative for Norman North to put the clamps on him in their first round matchup.

On the other hand, let’s not forget the pass throwers and catchers, as they’ve made plenty of plays on Yurview this fall as well. Just as Norman North needs to limit Cortes, Broken Arrow will need to contain Drake and Isaac Stoops, or they’ll make plays all night.

The Ford Game of the Week has seen its share of defense also. North Quarterback Ryan Peoples has been awesome throwing to his twin wideouts this season, but he shouldn’t get too reckless tossing the ball around the yard, as BA has Damian Everette in the defensive backfield. With a three interception game on his resume, he’ll be scoping for opportunities.

Let’s not leave out the third phase of the game, as special teams has played a huge part in some games this fall. Everybody knows Jenks will be a tough out this playoff season, and the Trojans have a return game to go along with their defense and offense to make them a formidable opponent for all sixty minutes.

Add it up all the excitement from the regular season, and it sets up for one amazing playoff race. Norman North and Broken Arrow will kick off the Ford Game of the Week on Yurview Oklahoma and on November 10th.
