Something must give Wednesday night in Ruston when the LSU Tigers travel north to face the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs in a non-conference baseball contest. Both the Bulldogs and 8th-ranked Tigers swept their season-opening series and enter the contest 3-0.

J.C. Love Field at Pat Patterson Park is expected to be sold out.

La. Tech opened the season with a sweep of Wichita State over the weekend. The Bulldogs received an outstanding outing from Conference USA Pitcher of the Week Kyle Crigger. The senior picked up a win and a save in the series with the Shockers.

LSU outscored Maine 51-15 in Baton Rouge over the weekend to open the season undefeated. Infielder Cade Doughty picked up Southeastern Conference Player of the Week honors after torching the Bears with a .571 batting average and two home runs. New head coach Jay Johnson picked up his first wins as Tiger skipper.

Longtime Louisiana broadcaster Lyn Rollins will handle the play-by-play with Malcolm Butler providing analysis.
