Omaha high school football returns to YurView Thursday, August 27th with Elkhorn South taking on Millard West. This season’s GameTime schedule includes nine weeks of the best Omaha regular-season football matchups and one week of playoff action.

Featured Teams and Matchups

The Omaha GameTime schedule features 5 teams in the Preseason Max Preps Top 25: Nebraska rankings. 2019 Class A runner up Omaha Westside comes into the season as the #1 ranked team in the state.

2020 NSAA Class A champion and #2 ranked Bellevue West finished the 2019 season with a perfect 13-0 record. The Thunderbirds are in the hunt for their third state title in five years.

Other top-ranked teams showcased this season on GameTime include #5 Millard South, #11 Millard West and #21 Elkhorn South. Here’s a look at a few of this season’s top matchups:

Week 1 (Aug. 27) – Elkhorn South @ Millard West
Elkhorn South has two of the state’s best O-linemen (Prochazka & Isaac Zatechka), Millard West went unbeaten in the regular season last year and lost in the state semis to champion Bellevue West.

Week 4 (Sept. 18) – Bellevue West @ Millard South
This game is loaded with high-profile recruits. Bellevue West has the state’s best receiving corps, led by 3-star Iowa commit Keagan Johnson and 2022 prospect TE Kaden Helms. Millard South has TJ Urban (Air Force commit) at QB and plenty of speed on offense. Could be a barn burner and a preview of two teams who could be right there playing for a state title at the end of the season.

Week 6 (Oct. 2) – Millard North @ Westside
It’s a chance to see one of Nebraska’s top players, Westside’s Avante Dickerson. He’s a 4-year varsity starter, the 8th ranked CB in the nation and committed to play at Minnesota. His teammate Koby Bretz had a breakout season last year and is a fast riser, holding 7 D-I offers. Northern Illinois commit Cade Haberman is one to watch along both lines.
