Game Overview

The Edmond North Huskies and Putnam City Pirates seem to be headed in different directions as they meet for opening week of the 6A-I District 2 schedule – Friday, September 25th at 7:00 pm CT on YurView.

How to watch Edmond North vs Putnam City

Edmond North is winless at 0-2, but one thing is for sure, the Huskies offense can score. After missing the first two games of the season because of a positive coronavirus case, they came back and put up 35 points against Edmond Santa Fe. However, they came up a touchdown short and lost 42-35. Last week they suffered a heartbreaking, single-point loss to Deer Creek 24-23. The Huskies scored first in overtime, but a missed extra point ended up costing them the game. If the defense can improve, Edmond North can score enough to win some games this season.

One player to watch for the Huskies is senior WR Xander Steele. He not only excels on the field but is also #1 academically in his class and a National Merit Scholar.

After a week one setback to Putnam City North (31-6), the Pirates have bounced back to improve to 2-1 heading into district play. In week two, they defeated Putnam City West 28-6 on the Ford Game of the Week. Seth Wisby ran for 3 touchdowns in that game. The Pirates followed that up with an impressive 35-7 win over Edmond Memorial. Under first-year coach Carter Whitson, Putnam City has significantly improved from last season’s disappointing 1-9 finish.
