The Norman Tigers came to Allan Trimble Stadium in Jenks, Oklahoma to take on the Jenks Trojans. Jenks needed a win to stay on pace for second place in the district with Edmond Santa Fe. Norman was hoping for a win to get into the playoff picture.
After Jenks turned the ball over on their first possession, Norman was able to convert the turnover into a 25-yard field goal by Grady Wade to take an early 3-0 lead.
But Jenks struck back quickly. Senior running back Noah Hernandez scored twice in the first quarter on runs of 37 and 35 yards as Jenks built a 14-3 lead. Norman ended the quarter with another Grady Wade field goal. This one from 35 yards made the score 14-6, Jenks.
In the second quarter senior quarterback Ian Corbin connected with senior tight end Dylan O’Keefe on a two-yard touchdown pass. Jenks led at the half by a score of 21-6.
In the third quarter, it was that man Noah Hernandez again. This time he rambled 27 yards and Jenks was up 28-6.
But Norman was not ready to give up. The Tigers drove the field and scored on a 31 yard run by senior quarterback Cade Horton. That made the score 28-13.
Jenks came back with a 12-yard touchdown reception by junior wide receiver Bo Estes and a nine-yard touchdown run by quarterback Ian Corwin to go up 42-13.
Norman’s Andrew Young hauled in a 48-yard touchdown pass with 52 seconds left in the game to make the final score Jenks 42, Norman 20.
Norman is now 2-3 in 6A Division I District 1, and 4-4 overall. Jenks improves to 4-1 in district and 7-1 overall.

The throw from quarterback Cade Horton landed in Cooper’s left hand and did not touch the ground as he made the reception. Jenks defeated Norman 42-20.
