Ford Game of the Week: Broken Arrow vs. Edmond Memorial 10-25-18

The number 1 ranked and undefeated Broken Arrow Tigers were in Edmond, Oklahoma to play the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs.  This 6A Division I District 1 game was played at Wolves Stadium on the campus of Edmond Santa Fe High School.

Broken Arrow wasted little time establishing dominance in this game.  The Tigers scored on their first 8 positions.

Early in the first quarter, quarterback Tate Robards completed a 4-yard pass to Kaizer Newell to give BA the early 7-0 lead.  On their next possession, Tiger running back Noah Cortes scored on a 16-yard run to make the lead 14-0.  Late in the quarter, quarterback Quinteven Cherry’s 4-yard run made the score 21-0.

In the second quarter, it was more of the same. Quintevin Cherry with a 41-yard touchdown run built the lead to 28-0.  Then it was Noah Cortes again.  This time he ran 26 yards for a touchdown.  Matt Kaiser had a 21 yard TD reception and just before halftime, Dax Wilson scored on a 7 yard TD pass.  Broken Arrow led 49-0 at the half.

Broken Arrow closed out the scoring in the third quarter on a 24-yard pass to Kolton Fair.  Broken Arrow defeats Edmond Memorial 56-0. Broken Arrow is now 6-0 in district play, 9-0 overall.  Edmond Memorial is 2-5 in district, 2-7 overall.

Tate Robards was 10/13 passing for 205 yards and 3 TD’s.  Quintevin Cherry had four rushes, 81 yards, 2 TD’s.  Cherry completed 3 of 7 for 57 yards and 1 TD.  Noah Cortes had 14 carries, 110 yards and two touchdowns.

Highlights:

The players of the game in the Broken Arrow – Edmond Memorial game were senior quarterbacks Tate Robards and Quintevin Cherry.  Tate Robards was 10/13 passing for 205 yards/3 TD’s. Quintevin Cherry had four rushes, 81 yards/2 TD’s. Cherry completed 3 of 7 for 57 yards/1 TD.


The play of the game was made by Broken Arrow’s Matt Kaiser.  In the first quarter, he made a spectacular one-handed catch of a Tate Robards pass that led to a Broken Arrow touchdown.  He also had a 26 yard touchdown reception in the game.
