Bishop McGuinness rallied from 13 points down in the fourth quarter for a 42-41 victory vs. Edison in the OSSAA 5A quarterfinals.
Bishop McGuinness completed the comeback with Evan Ille’s 3-yard rushing touchdown and go-ahead PAT and an interception by Zach Schmit.
Dominic Richardson tallied 223 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
Bishop McGuinness starting quarterback Luke Tarman (139 yards rushing) went down with an injury in the second half and Ille stepped up to fill the void.
“We have played before with Evan at quarterback, and we felt confident with him,” Bishop McGuinness coach Bryan Pierce said to the Tulsa World. “He’s a senior leader, and he showed great senior leadership.”
