uri women's basketball on yurview

The University of Rhode Island women’s basketball team wraps up their non-conference schedule with a home game versus Maine on Friday, December 11. Tipoff time is scheduled for 6pm.

This is the first of 10 games scheduled to be televised on YurView this season. Cox video customers in Rhode Island can watch on channel 4, and it will stream on ESPN+.

The Lady Black Bears head south to Kingston after beating the Providence College Friars 62-48 on Thursday night, Maine’s first game of the season.
Tammi Reiss’s Rams are still looking for their first win. In their most recent game, they fell to Massachusetts 79-69.

To get that W, Rhody will need to figure out a way to slow down Maine senior Blanca Millan. In her first game back from an ACL tear suffered last year, she showed no signs of rust exploding for 30 points on 13 for 25 shooting, and pulling down a game-high 14 rebounds. Millan was the America East Conference Player of the Year in 2019.

rhody insider uri athletics newsletterOne significant bright spot on the floor for URI this season has been the play of URI’s French connection, Washington State grad transfer Johana Muzet and Missouri transfer, redshirt junior Emmanuelle Tahane, both natives of France.

Muzet’s been stuffing the stat sheet for Reiss’ Rams with 16.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks, and 1.3 steals per game so far this season.

Tahane leads the Rams in scoring (16.3), rebounds (7.2) and assists (4.0). She’s been reliable from the floor, to say the least, with a sterling 60.0 field goal percentage (21-35) including an incredible 77 percent from the floor at UMass (10-13), connecting on her first nine shot attempts.

YurView is once again partnering with University of Rhode Island Athletics & URI’s Harrington School of Communication and Media to produce the live games, pairing students with production professionals to provide a unique learning experience and get all of the Lady Rams’ games on local TV.
