Aaron Coulter Isaiah Parker URI Football NFL Draft

It’s been a long time since University of Rhode Island football has had a Ram picked in the NFL Draft. In fact, it’s been over 30 years since OL Bob White was chosen by the New York Jets.

This year’s crop of Ram prospects is looking to change that trend. URI features a trio of 2020 prospects hoping to hear their names called over the weekend; offensive guard Kyle Murphy and WR’s Isaiah Coulter and Aaron Parker.

UPDATE: Isaiah Coulter was selected in the 5th round by the Houston Texans, Aaron Parker & Kyle Murphy signed as undrafted free agents; Parker with the Dallas Cowboys and Murphy with the New York Giants.

Stone Freeman was joined LIVE Coulter & Parker for a pre-Draft Q&A with the talented wideouts. They discussed their experience at the combine, what they’re hearing from NFL teams, how they view their legacy in Kingston and much more. Watch the replay below:

A Maryland native, Aaron Parker recorded 81 receptions for 1,224 yards and nine touchdowns in his senior season. Parker is known for his size, physicality and route running and patterns his game after Deandre Hopkins.

Despite the gaudy receiving numbers, Parker been just as lauded by the URI coaching staff for the little things he does on and off the field for URI Football.

Isaiah Coulter is also a Maryland native who also happens to be Aaron Parker’s cousin. Coulter is entering the draft after a junior season in which he finished with 72 catches, 1,039 yards and 8 TD’s. He turned heads at the NFL combine with his combination of size and speed; his 4.45 time in the 40 tied Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy for 10th best among wideouts.

Many draft experts look at Coulter as one of the biggest sleepers in this year’s draft. None other than Hall of Famer Gil Brandt says that Coulter “could be this year’s D.K. Metcalf”.
