Sand Springs and Bixby will renew their growing rivalry on Thursday night. These two programs have met eight times over the last five years, including three occasions in the playoffs.
The game will be broadcast live on Yurview Oklahoma for customers of Cox Communications and will also stream live on Yurview.com.
Looking to Breakthrough
Perhaps the only thing keeping this series from developing into a true rivalry is the results. Sand Springs hasn’t won in this series since 2015. Bixby has beaten Sand Springs in six of the last seven, including all three playoff matchups over the last four years.
Sand Springs will likely have to play its best game of the year this week to knock off Bixby. It’s been a rough season for Sand Springs, as they sit at 2-5 heading into Friday. However, they did break a four-game losing streak last week with a, 35-14, victory over Ponca City.
Bixby has lost just once this season and that defeat came in Week 1 against Jenks. Bixby has won six straight. During the winning streak, they have beaten opponents by an average of 37 points and recorded two shutouts.
