Wichita State starter Preston Snavely pitched 7 shutout innings as the Shockers won for the seventh time in eight games Friday.
Playing in foggy, wet conditions, Wichita State scratched out a run in the bottom of the third inning on a shallow fly ball to right-center field. Jacob Katzfey took an aggressive dash for home and beat the off-line throw home.
That’s all the offense the Shockers would need in a 2-0 win against Bethune-Cookman.
The teams play again Saturday and Sunday before Wichita State plays at Kansas on April 2.
