(Game Recap): A new-look Wichita State team that started three freshmen and one JUCO transfer got off to a fantastic start to the season Wednesday night.
The Shockers built a 39-14 halftime lead over visiting Arkansas-Pine Bluff, winning 76-39. Wichita State outscored Arkansas-Pine Bluff in all four quarters despite coasting to a win late.
Sabrina Lozada-Cabbage led all scorers with a career-high 21 points, most of which came in the first half, when she outscored the Golden Lions by herself. The senior also pitched in 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block.
Wichita State (1-0) hosts Missouri State at 2 p.m. CST Saturday in Charles Koch Arena.
